A letter from Pui · Lead Artist, N&Beauty

Can You Fix or Cover Up Permanent Makeup From Another Salon?

Hi — I'm Pui, the artist behind N&Beauty here in Bangkok. If you're reading this because something from another salon didn't turn out the way you hoped, I want you to know something first: you are not alone, and there is nothing to be embarrassed about.

You are far from the only one — really

More and more of the people who sit in my chair are coming to me for a repair, not a first-time treatment. Someone had brows done somewhere else, and for whatever reason — a color that turned strange, a shape that never quite matched their face, healing that didn't go smoothly — it just isn't right for them anymore.

I want to say this gently but clearly: please don't feel embarrassed to bring this to me. I've seen every version of this story, and I never judge the salon or the client. My only question is simple — how can I help you feel good about your face again?

Why a repair usually costs a little more

Here's the honest part. When you come to me with work from another salon, I'm not starting with a blank page. I first need to read what's already there — what technique was used, what kind of pigment, how it sits in your skin, how it's likely to behave as I work on top of it. That's a real extra step, almost like solving a small puzzle before I can even begin your design.

Because of that, a repair from another salon is often priced a bit higher than a completely fresh treatment. That said, it isn't always more expensive. If I can work with your existing shape, or if only a simple adjustment is needed, I'm happy to do it at our normal first-time price. It really depends on what I see when we meet — which is why I always want to look before I quote you anything.

When it's more complicated — and where I'm honest with you

Some cases are simply harder. Brow tattoos from ten or more years ago that have stayed dark, or work that healed looking a bit like it was 'colored in with a pen' — these are the trickiest to cover, because the old pigment can fight against anything new I try to place over it.

In those situations, the most honest answer is that laser removal may be needed first, to lighten what's there before we redesign. I want to be upfront with you: I don't offer laser removal at N&Beauty myself. What I can do is corrective PMU for smaller adjustments, priced at 1,900 THB, and I'll always tell you clearly if I think your case needs laser first — I'd rather be honest than take you on and give you a result you're still not happy with.

The best first step — just send me a photo

You really don't need to explain everything or feel nervous about how to describe it. The simplest thing is to send me a clear photo of your brows on WhatsApp or LINE. I can look at the color, the shape, and how it's healed, and give you my honest read on what's possible — a simple touch-up, a fuller correction, or whether laser should come first.

There's no pressure in asking. I'd genuinely rather look at a photo and tell you the truth than have you wonder alone.

Questions

A few questions I'm often asked

Not at all. So many of my clients come to me exactly this way, and I never see it as anything to be embarrassed about. I only want to help you get to a result you're happy with now.

Because I first need to understand the existing technique and pigment before I can safely design over it — that extra reading and planning is real work. That said, if your existing shape can be kept or only needs a simple adjustment, I can often do it at our normal first-time price.

Very old or heavily saturated brow tattoos, or designs that healed looking flat and 'penned in,' can be the hardest to cover directly. These sometimes need laser removal first to lighten the pigment before I can redesign — I'll always tell you honestly if I think this is your case.

Not currently. I do offer corrective PMU for smaller corrections at 1,900 THB, and if I feel your situation needs laser first, I'll let you know clearly and point you toward that option before we go further.

If there's one thing I want you to take from this letter, it's that a past experience doesn't define what's possible now. I've seen so many brows go from something someone was hiding under makeup to something they're proud to wake up with. Send me a photo, let me really look, and I'll always tell you the truth about what I see — that's the only way I know how to work. — Pui, Lead Artist, N&Beauty
