Getting Permanent Makeup While Visiting Bangkok: A Traveler's Guide
Hi — I'm Pui, the artist behind N&Beauty here in Bangkok. So many of my clients are visiting Thailand for just a short while, and I love that you're considering doing this here. But because you likely won't be back in a month, there are a few things I want you to know before you book, so your trip and your new brows or lips get along well together.
Chat on WhatsAppIf you're only here once — how touch-ups work for travelers
Let me be honest with you about something first, because I never want you confused about pricing. Our free retouch within one month isn't a 'two visits included' package — it's there to support anyone whose color faded unexpectedly fast within that first month. Most of my local clients simply don't need it.
For travelers, though, I know a month is rarely realistic. So I extend that window specially for you — if you're visiting, your free retouch is valid for up to three months, not one. And if more time has passed, or you'd like to come back and refine things within your first year, we do have a return pricing for that too. Just message me on LINE or WhatsApp when the time comes and I'll take care of you.
Please do this before anything else on your beauty list
If your trip includes other treatments too, I'd really encourage you to come to me first. This matters most for lips — if you've recently had hyaluronic acid filler there, the area often swells quite a lot during a PMU session, and honestly, there are times I have to decline the treatment altogether because of it.
So please, plan your permanent makeup before any filler, not after. It saves you a wasted appointment, and it saves your lips from an uncomfortable few days.
If beaches or pools are part of your trip
While your brows are healing, it's best to keep them away from pools, the sea, hot springs and saunas altogether — soaking a fresh treatment in water really isn't good for it. Thailand's sun is also stronger than many people expect, so keep the area out of direct sun and wear a wide-brimmed hat whenever you're outside.
The simplest way to plan around this: enjoy your beach and pool days first, and book your appointment for after them — toward the end of your trip. That way your healing isn't competing with the water and sun you came all this way for.
- While healing, avoid pools, the sea, hot springs and saunas
- Keep the treated area out of direct sun; wear a wide-brimmed hat outdoors
- Plan your beach and pool days before your appointment, not after
Save your lips for later in your trip
I know Thai food is a huge part of why people love visiting — the spice, the street food, a cold drink in the evening. But spicy food and alcohol really can affect your healing if you've just had lip PMU.
So if lips are on your list, I'd gently suggest booking them toward the end of your stay rather than the beginning. That way you get to enjoy the food and drink you came for, and your lips get to heal the way I want them to.
Questions
A few questions I'm often asked
For brows, this is usually fine — just keep the area dry and out of direct sun on travel day, and avoid rubbing it. For lips, I'd rather you give yourself a little more buffer, since swelling and downtime tend to be more noticeable in the first day or two.
It depends on how recent the filler is. Fresh filler often causes extra swelling during the PMU session, so I may ask you to wait, or in some cases I'll need to decline for now. Please tell me about any filler when you message me, so we can plan it properly.
That's exactly why I extend the free retouch window to three months for travelers, instead of the usual one month. And if even more time passes, we still have a return-visit price available within your first year — just reach out on LINE or WhatsApp.
Yes — we're right on Sukhumvit 23, about a five-minute walk from BTS Asoke or MRT Sukhumvit, so it's simple to fit into a Bangkok itinerary. For booking, WhatsApp is easiest in English, and LINE works well if you'd like to chat in Japanese or Thai.
Traveling somewhere new and trusting a stranger with your face takes a certain kind of courage, and I don't take that lightly. I just want your trip to go smoothly, and your brows or lips to heal beautifully long after you've gone home. If you plan around these few things, I really think they will. — Pui, Lead Artist, N&Beauty
